I think that even though my husband and I try our best, we can’t completely shield our children from the effects of the media. I think if we start early in their lives to teach them the values we want them to have, then they have a better chance of deciding on their own what’s right and what’s wrong as they grow up.

My oldest is 4.5 and he is now starting to figure out society’s gender roles, but only a little bit so far.
