FedEx Delivery Drivers OK not doing their jobs?

Mommy Jenna | October 27th, 2009 - 2:22 pm

Today I have had to experience some of the worst customer service in a LONG time. And for it to come from a company like FedEx, well it’s just getting annoying. I’ve had a package delivered to someone across town and not myself, and I’ve had someone claim they attempted delivery when they did not. This is the worst time something like this has happened.

After reviewing e-mails, I realized I package I was to receive yesterday never arrived. We were home all day. Our postal carrier came. Our UPS guy came. So I sent the company an e-mail just to see if they had a tracking number on the package.

Your package is “in transit” – was scheduled to be delivered but message states customer was not available or business closed. This is your tracking number: ——————

Is it sad that knowing that message, I KNEW it was a FedEx delivery? So sure enough I see the time the “attempted” delivery took place. We were home. The funny thing? It was within the same 15 minutes that our mail man was making a delivery. There’s no doortag left in our front hall. Nothing. NO ONE CAME TO OUR APARTMENT FROM FEDEX.

fedexbanSo this morning, I called. “Well the package will be out for deliveries for 3 business days.” Ok well, that’s not my problem folks. When I am AT my residence and someone says they attempted to deliver something. Yeah, you can’t exactly miss it. We have an annoying security buzzer. This thing can induce my migraines. I know the package will get here sooner or later, my problem is the continuous lack of concern FedEx has.

My annoying buzzer goes off this afternoon. And yes, this FedEx driver must enjoy holding the thing down even after I’ve hit the door for her to get into our building. When I open the door to see it is her, I grab the package and shut the door. Little did I know the reason why she had a grin on her face.

With the cold weather coming, today has been a pretty nice day. So about 15 minutes after the package arrived, I decided to head outside with Aubrey. I open the door and oh.my.god. There is a DOORTAG on my door. Those lovely things you get when you miss a package? This FedEx employee thought it would be okay to hang the doortag she WOULD HAVE hung yesterday if we hadn’t been here. Oh wait, that’s right. We were here. She never came.

Back inside I come to call the 1-800 number back. He says he’ll forward my “concern”. Yeah right. I tell him I’m sick of this becoming a continuous pattern with THIS driver and I want to know what’s going to be done about it. “Well you did get your package, didn’t you?”

That’s not the problem anymore FedEx. It’s the fact that this has become an ongoing problem and the fact a doortag was hung up AFTER making the delivery. Looks to me like someone’s trying to cover her ass. Except she just scribbled on the tag quick. Since she was supposed to deliver Monday, will she really wait til NEXT MONDAY to try delivery again? Yeah, you got the doortag wrong too there hun.

Now, I’ve had a FedEx individual contact me on good ole Twitter. He asks for my tracking number. I get a response of “I’m glad to see your package was delivered. Is there anything I can help you with?” Um yeah, getting rid of the morons in this company that think it’s ok as long as the package gets there.

After saying my issues is not with the package being delivered its the lack of customer service and the fact we’re acting like it’s okay for this woman to be deceitful with her job. How many packages have never showed up for other individuals?

I’m sorry about what happened, but I’m glad to hear that you got your package. I hope that you give us the opportunity to better assist you again.

Warmest regards,

FedexAl

Yeah sorry. I’m still not happy. FedEx, I’m so glad I love my UPS Driver.

Million Baby Crawl with Seventh Generation *Giveaway*

Mommy Jenna | October 27th, 2009 - 11:54 am

Seventh Generation has created the Million Baby Crawl to help educate parents to use their voice in reforming the toxical chemical policies.

As I read more about the Enviromental Protection Agency’s policy on testing toxic chemicals used in household products, I found it scary to know that only 200 of over 80,000 chemicals are required to undergo safety testing.

By joining the Million Baby Crawl, you are helping stand up for your child and future children’s safety. The Toxic Chemical Reform Act will help make laws stricter in forcing more chemicals to be tested and gain more knowledge of what’s REALLY being put into the products we purchase in the store.

Did you know that…

Ø In the 33 years since Congress passed that nation’s chemical regulatory law, the Toxic Substances Control Act (TCSA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has required testing on just 200 of the more than 80,000 chemical compounds developed for products used in the home.

Ø Under the current law, the EPA does not have the authority to demand the information it needs to evaluate a chemical’s risk, and neither manufacturers nor the EPA are required to prove a chemical’s safety as a condition of use.

Ø 1.25 million kids younger than six are unintentionally poisoned in the home each year by things like cosmetics and personal care products, cleaning substances, pain relievers and cough and cold medicines (American Association of Poison Control Centers)

Ø Studies show that nearly 200 industrial chemicals and pollutants have been found in the umbilical cord blood of newborns (Environmental Working Group).

Seventh Generation wants to get the word out on the Million Baby Crawl and have your “crawler” join! Aubrey is crawling so who will you have join?  One For The Love of Baby! reader will have the chance to win a Healthy Home Kit.

Ladies For Themselves on Facebook

Mommy Jenna | October 27th, 2009 - 9:08 am

I recently got invited to this event for the day and thought I would spread the word. Every woman with a Facebook, I encourage you to participate today in changing your status at some point today to why you are special and why you are incredible! We drag ourselves down far too much!

Just about everyday I hear a friend, family member, classmate, or even a random girl in the bathroom, put themselves down. Well I think i’ve just about heard enough! We’re all guilty, it just comes with being a woman.
For just one day, I would like to see women thinking for themselves. This may sound odd to some of you and whether you put yourself down or not it’s time to motivate your fellow ladies to embrace themselves.
October 27th, the last tuesday of the month, let’s have our STATUS’ state something positive about ourselves!

i.e. “I am beautiful on the inside and out”
” My smile is addictive”
“I am a driven woman who can accomplish anything i’d like”

You get the idea! This sounds ridiculous to some of you I know, but think of it this way.
If you believe in yourself, everyone else will. Whether it’s a future employer, boyfriend, husband, crush, parents, friends, and basically anyone you want.

Please invite your friends, lets see a turnout, do it for our future generation of women, set the tone!

And tell me what you think, if you think we should do this bi-annually or annually, or even more.

“A woman had amazing strengths. She can deal with stress and carry heavy burdens. She smiles when she feels like screaming. She sings when she feels like crying. She cries when she’s happy and laughs when she is afraid. Her love is unconditional.. There is only one thing wrong with her.. she forgets what she is worth”

Thanx Lauren for sharing this!

Infant Nutrition Center Website

Mommy Jenna | October 26th, 2009 - 1:08 pm

BabyMilkBecoming a new parent is FULL of questions and attempting to learn as much about you can to make sure you provide the best care possible for your new little one. Infancy is a vital time of growing and development, and with that is so important to make sure your child is getting the right nutrients to help those little bodies and brains function. Did you know that within the first year of life, a baby’s body size can TRIPLE in size from birth?

A new website, www.InfantNutritionCenter.com, recently launched October 19th. This site provides a large amount of information for those wanting to learn more about Infant Nutrition and I love the breakdown in visual videos to learn more. I myself am more of a visual learner so the site was perfect for me to navigate and pay attention. Sometimes it’s alot easier to watch something rather than just read, read, read.

A remarkable new website, InfantNutritionCenter.com, unveiling Monday, October 19, will take us Moms on a unique and powerful visual journey through infant nutrition and development, with amazing visuals that reveal how proper nutrition shapes development and how individual nutrients affect the senses, bone formation, and the immune system of infants. Showcasing new data and 3-D images, the site lets you explore and learn the latest research findings through video, pictures, and graphics, in depth questions like why infant eyesight depends on getting enough DHA and what key nutrients contribute to the healthy growth of your child’s brain.

Developed as a resource for Moms, the website brings together information from leading health centers and researchers across the country to explain how nutrition is crucial to infant development. How can you make sure that your newborn gets the nutrients she needs to ensure healthy growth through her first birthday? How do you keep her stomach from getting upset? What should you, as an expectant Mom, eat to ensure that you stay healthy as your infant grows? What vitamins do you need if you’re breastfeeding to ensure that you’re passing along the right nutrients to your infant?

I highly recommend checking this site out to help learn more about your child’s nutritional needs and how you can help your little one be the best they can!

A webcast is also available to check out the launch of Infant Nutrition Center.

My Little Pony Twinkle Wish Adventure

Mommy Jenna | October 22nd, 2009 - 7:35 pm

When I was a little girl, one of my favorite toys was My Little Pony. I remember singing along to the various movies as well as braiding my ponies’ hair and so forth. I was very excited to learn there were still My Little Pony toys for my little girls to enjoy as much as I did when I was a little girl.

New on DVD is the latest My Little Pony adventure, My Little Pony-Twinkle Wish Adventure. With the weather getting cold, Kelsie, Aubrey, and I curled up together under the blanket, and I watched Kelsie’s face light up with excitement to the catchy music and bright colors of the movie.MyLittlePony1

All the ponies can’t wait for the Winter Wishes Festival where the Wishing Star grants each pony one special wish. But when the Wishing Star disappears, they go on a journey to find it. But will they make it back in time for the festival? Join Pinkie Pie and all her pony friends on their journey as they discover that friendship can make wishes come true!

With the upcoming holidays, I know we will be watching this fun adventure over and over again. Kelsie loves singing along and of course, Mom enjoys peeking at the ponies I loved too!

My Little Pony Twinkle Wish Adventure to provide my opinion. An additional copy was donated to charity.

Once In A Blue Moon By Eileen Goudge

Mommy Jenna | October 22nd, 2009 - 6:34 pm

With my busy schedule, it can be very hard for me to get “me” time. Between chasing the girls, being in class, or working here at the computer, it’s always go go go around here.

Thanks to One2One Network, I had the chance to check out an amazing book that I could not put down. I made time for myself to get the chance to sit down and read Once in a Blue Moon, By Eileen Goudge. The story line just leaves you wanting to know what will happen next, and of course, some characters that you will completely be intrigued by.

Sisters Lindsay and Kerrie Ann have known hardship from an early age. Without guidance from their neglectful mother, their only aid came from an unlikely source, a retired exotic dancer by the name of Miss Honi Love. When the girls’ mother was sent to prison, Miss Honi tried unsuccessfully to save them from being separated and sent into foster care.

Thirty years later, Lindsay is still trying to reconnect with her sister. The owner of a bookstore in the sleepy California seaside town of Blue Moon Bay, she was lucky enough to have been adopted by a loving couple. Unbeknownst to her, Kerrie Ann has suffered a very different life. Bounced from one foster home to the next, she ran away as a teenager before becoming a drug-addicted single mother. Now, newly sober, Kerrie Ann is fighting to regain custody of the little girl who was taken from her.

Neither sister’s expectations are met when they’re finally reunited. But as the two sisters engage in the fiercest battles of their lives, they are at last drawn together despite their differences, restoring belief in the unshakable bond of
Being a former foster child, this book caught my attention. I’ve seen both sides of the foster care system and this story shows how a foster child can go both ways. Once in A Blue Moon takes readers into the world of two girls that started out in the same “world” and were then brought up in two opposite societies. Can these girls become the sisters they once were?
After reading Once in A Blue Moon, I will be looking for other books by Eileen Goudge. Her writing will leave you wanting to know more as you fall in love with each and every character.
No monetary compensation was received for this review. I received a complimentary copy of the book from One2One Network to allow myself to read and discuss my opinion on this book.

Tuesday Timeout…yeah, there’s Evanescence. Surprise

Mommy Jenna | October 20th, 2009 - 12:44 pm

Ready for a Tuesday Timeout? I am! Mom’s in a rock out mood so how about some live Evanescence to get yourself motivated! I will have to say Evanescence has been the most interactive and energetic concert I have ever been to. They interact with the crowd big time and yes, I came home with no voice for a week. Oops!

So one of my favorite songs from the concert I had been at, I found another of them performing it live. And yes, it was impossible to pick.

What’s your timeout for this Tuesday?

Tanya got her nose pierced!

Mommy Jenna | October 18th, 2009 - 6:53 pm

Yes, it’s true. I just HAVE to be a bad influence. Tanya from Mommy Goggles had the chance to come visit for a few hours and we took a trip to Jaded Angel! Now, she wanted me to get another piercing but, well, I put any more metal in my face, I might set off an alarm. So Tanya had decided last time she was here, she was going to get her nose pierced.  And yes, we got it on video! And I have to say, her eyes barely watered compared to my nose piercing times! While I didn’t get a piercing, I did start the process of re-gauging my ears. Yes they have been gauged before. And I am doing it again!

Thanks to Jeff for being awesome as always!!
