Two weeks have passed since the time Jon Lacina was last seen. No cell phones or bank accounts have been touched since the night he disappeared on January 22nd. An Iowa State student is missing. While I did not know Jon personally, I am a mother. I am a former Iowa State Student. I am an Ames resident. It worries me and I must keep him and his family and friends in my daily thoughts.
This “news story” has seemed to disappear as time passes on. But we must must continue to spread the word of Jon and show his face to everyone, in hopes that someone, somewhere, will recognize him.
I understand that every day that goes past, many say the likelihood of a positive outcome fades. Yet, Iowa State students are not giving up hope on one of their own. Groups have been meeting at Campanile in Central Iowa State University campus every night to light candles and show their support and hope in bringing Jon home. The Facebook group, Help Find Jon Lacina, now has over 20,000 members showing their support in helping find this young man.
Please do not give up hope in finding Jon Lacina. Continue to pass the word and his picture to anyone that you may know.

I can’t imagine how gut-wrenching this must be for his family and friends–not knowing where, or how, he is. Praying for his safe return.
I’ve been following this on the news and it just breaks my heart. I just keep hoping that he needed to get away for a bit and will show up. It hurts my heart for his family to think of anything else.
