Civil War Battlefields

With this weekend being 4th of July, it’s a time to not only look back at the American Revolution but our history overall, including the Civil War.

The Civil War Preservation Trust is dedicated to perserving Civil War Battlefields, a vital part of our American history. I remember back in school being fascinated with the Civil War, the Underground Railroad and dreamed of going to a place like Gettysburg.

When the girls are older, I would love to take them on a summer vacation and explore one of our famous battlefields that helped form who we are today. Have you ever had the chance to visit one of the Civil War Battlefields? What was your experience?
